Hello Condemned! I’m back with another preview for you, and some news! Last weekend, I was over at Protospiel Minneapolis, showing off a board game that I made! The first couple play throughs of the game were…rough… Like, really rough. But they got a lot better as I received feedback. It’s in a much better position than it was when I started the weekend. So much so, that a couple publishers even took notice! Too soon to say if anything will come of that, and I’m not about to count my chickens just yet. Still, that was a nice little ego boost. But that’s not why you’re here. You’re here because I have a new card to show off! And this one? It’s got a throwback!

Do you remember this card? Thrown Weapons Training is a fun little Preparation Card from Enter The Arena. I had fun with that card, I really did! I knew it would be a neat little way to turn things around when you don’t have a Ranged Weapon. Flavor-wise, it was easy to make, too! You’re taking a Melee Weapon in your hand, and you’re chucking it at your opponent. Just send it. And while working on making this card, I gave James Bernard something very specific to work with…

I knew that I wanted to put a little sneak peek at a future Weapon into Enter The Arena. I like it when my sets have little sneak peeks into future sets. It’s so fun to see people looking at cards and wondering why something is in there. Especially when it doesn’t fit right away. There’s another card like that that I’ll spoil in the future.

And that’s where the Pulverizer comes in! James put this Weapon into Thrown Weapons Training. I wanted there to be a sneak peek in the future, just to see if anyone noticed. Not many people did, but now you know! And let me guess, you’re going to go look for more hidden nods to future cards, aren’t you? I know you will!

Beyond the little nod prior, Pulverizer is a fascinating card. It’s a relatively weak card on its own, but if you discard a card? That’s where it gets super powerful! As always, however, that power comes at a price. You’re losing out on using a card for something better down the road. Is this juice worth the squeeze? You decide!

It’s so much fun making cards with little secrets hidden in them. I especially like it when the card also has a tie in to future expansions. This Weapon is a cool addition, and I can’t wait to show you more of the Weapons I came up with. Hell, I can’t wait to show you the rest of the cards! But with Pulverizer finished, that brings us up to:

22/128 cards

This is so much fun! One card after another, until we have all the cards completed. If you want to see more cards come out, go pick up some cards from the Juel Games store. Every sale turns into more money I can put towards more art. You also help fund my donations to The Innocence Project. If the cards you’ve seen so far excite you, please follow the Chaotic Assault Kickstarter. That way, you can get notified when it goes live and be one of the first people to get your hands on it!

Don’t forget, this Sunday is the Theme Deck tournament online on The Condemned Discord! I would love to see more people join in and take part. Plus, you get to see cards before they’re officially released. Just saying…

But that’s going to wrap up this update. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in The Arena!
