Hello Condemned! It’s been a hot minute, hasn’t it? I haven’t had any new artwork for a while. That and life got in the way a bit. Though I was at VGM Con last month, and Anime Detour before that. I got to show off the game, we had a draft at VGM, it was good! I had a ton of fun there. Also, another store recently picked up The Condemned! If you’re in the upper midwest, drop by The Source Comics and Games in Roseville and pick up some packs. Every little bit helps, you know? Don’t forget, your purchases turn into donations to The Innocence Project, too! But enough about me and what I’m up to, let’s talk about this new card.

When I first started making cards for Chaotic Assault, I didn’t have the theme lined up yet. Hell, I had just barely wrapped up Enter The Arena. It didn’t even have a set name! But I knew I needed to expand upon the initial design space. As much as I love The Ripper, I knew I needed more cards with Multi-Hit. The result was a Multi-Hit Weapon that plays dirty. Check out the Razor Whip:

I love the whole aesthetic and mechanics of this Weapon. The Multi-Hit is nice, but it’s not the only nice part about it. Being able to do double damage to Light Armor means this card will absolutely shed your opponents. No two ways about that one!

When designing the Razor Whip, I knew I wanted something like razor wire turned into an elegant weapon. There was only one person I wanted making this art, too. Lahiru sent me some really fascinating sketches, shown below. While I loved the effort put into the design, there was a small problem with it. Most weapons of this sort have a light weight tip. The design he created was too heavy at the end. It was effectively a ball and chain.

Don’t get me wrong! For a rough sketch, this was fantastic. It accurately conveyed what he was envisioning, and it meshed nicely with what I had in mind, too. But I had him remove most of the embellishments at the end, turning it into a single blade instead of the three points. The idea came together really nicely. So much so, that I’m giving serious consideration to putting this art on the booster pack. I think it would look pretty slick, don’t you? It’s always nice to see things coming together, especially after so long without any updates. Razor Whip puts us up to

25/128

While I still have a long ways to go, it’s nice to see more progress being made. 64 is the halfway mark, and that’s a huge milestone. Every pack purchased helps bring me closer to that goal! Oh! Speaking of…

My birthday is this month! To celebrate, I’m running a special in the Juel Games Store. Use coupon code HAPPYBIRTHDAY at checkout and take 10% off your entire order! That includes booster packs, play mats, apparel, everything. You should go grab some while it’s at a discount! I’m still donating to The Innocence Project, too. So you’re doing good and helping me grow at the same time! But that’s all I have for this time. I have a couple more orders out for artwork, so expect those to show up soon. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in The Arena!
